It is 2010...Hi Sandra and gang, and happy new year! It is 2010 in Japan, and so far... well, it doesn't look so much different. Mind you, I've only been out of bed for 20 minutes...

So, about eating out of your pantry - we do that a lot because I dislike shopping and don't have much time to do it anyway. What I sometimes do is go to online recipe sites when I have a number of ingredients that seem like they should go together in SOMETHING, and you can search for recipes with those specific ingredients. So, say you have some eggplant (we eat quite a bit of that here), mushrooms, and tomatoes, and you don't want to eat ratatouille AGAIN, plug the ingredients into the search engine and see what it turns up. You can also specify any ingredients you DON'T want in the recipe. Allrecipes.com has that kind of search function (you'll have to weed out the recipes that feature cans of cream of mushroom soup and boxes of cake mix, but there are some good ones in there) and you can probably do something similar on cooks.com or perhaps epicurious.

Happy cooking, and happy new year - hope to see you this summer.

Christiepcprovhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05836243156497446300noreply@blogger.com
