The Omnivore's Dilemma

Put in a call regarding the status of the building permit but haven't heard back.

In the meantime, the Omnivore's Dilemma has been recommended to me on several occasions, most recently as a result of our chicken adventures. Anybody read it? Your thoughts?

I'd recommend omnivore's dilemma. He divides the story of food into four distinct parts that move you from little to big to little to individual, leaving you to form an opinion of what kind of agronomy you'd prefer to see. All four parts were well written and interesting. I also just read "The End of Food" ... which makes me understand why Michael Pollan is famous and whats-his-name who wrote teof is not. It just gives fact after fact until you're left saying, "uh ... yes? and?" Pollan's hands-on, often amusing work blends stories and facts to create ideas.
