Blog Followers

We noticed recently that there are eleven declared followers of our blog! We hadn't been paying attention to the right hand side of things until recently so we missed it. Some of them we recognize, either by the photos or names...any chance the rest of you can identify yourselves? Do we know you? If not, can you tell us where you live and what your interest in our project is? That would be really cool. We like getting comments and feedback.

I just came across your site today and joined. I posted an article a while back about the Earthships in New Mexico. Good luck with your venture. I would love to do that some day. Also, would love to visit Canada someday as well. Do you already have your plans for your Earthship? I think we are going to try using alternative energy like solar and wind turbines first. My husband is in construction and the construction industry is taking a downturn right now. So he is considering going green - and possibly making and installing solar panels. Also building wind turbines. We have to save our money first though. I hope you take the time to read my article at http://emeraldcoastmom-living-green.blogspot.com/2009/04/earthships.html about the earthships. Take care,
Glenda

Thank you for your comment, Glenda. I did indeed read your blog posting...I have seen many people refer to the HGTV program but as a TV free household, we've never seen it! Maybe I'll follow your link and check it out!

To answer your question: yes not only do we have plans, we are finished the walls and are starting to think about the roof. Winter is on the way, so the majority of the roof may wait til spring.

Hi Guys, Peter here. My family and I came to visit a few months ago. It was incredibly hot that day as I remember.

Thought you might like to know that we have now purchased our land not too far from you, It is between Sheridan lake and Bridge Lake on the 24. We are still living near Vancouver but will be moving and renting as soon as our house sells.

We have bought an excavator and will begin construction on our tire bale house in April if we can stay on schedule. We will be baling about 30,000 tires in order to build the house and a machine shed.

Just thought I would touch base and see how you are doing.

By the way, any chance you would want to sell your tractor?

Hi Peter,

That's great about the land.

No, we don't want to sell our tractor. It's probably our most useful piece of equipment for the house.

Good luck getting those tires!
